I enjoy shooting portraits on location or in the studio. Usually I bring the studio to corporations in our area so it's more convenient for them. But for many individuals in need of professional headshots to update they're Linkedin or Facebook page, they usually want a studio backdrop. I have plenty of options to choose from, canvas drops and solid color seamless. I like my subjects to bring a couple outfits, shoot the business look, and then some more casuals. If time allows, I like to give everyone at least 2 lighting variations. Soft lighting is usually best for everyone, but it's nice to try a stronger source too. For this portrait, Massoud was mixing it up, choosing a black background. I was hesitant at first preferring a lighter tone, but he proved me wrong. With the bold look, we captured his confidence and personality.
